Course Reflection:
The course Spanish 300: Pre-Capstone for Spanish Majors, was inmensibly helpful. The course began with a very basic format that provided the basis of what academic research should constitute. The professor of the course, provided my classmates and myself with a book that presented basic guidelines and gave advice on where to start our research process. This book was extremely helpful because it guided me when I felt completely disoriented. Next, my Capstone partner and I started brainstorming ideas on what topic interested us the most. This step, although it appeared rather simple, turned out to be the most complex. My partner and I wanted to base our project on the image that the female character had within literature that is highly male-dominated. However, after meeting with our advisor and professors, we realized that our topic was too broad and needed more refining in certain details. After having established our topic and getting it approved by our advisor, my partner and I had a lot of opportunity to continue working on the basics of the research process. Although we are far from completing this project, this project has really sparked my interest and has been a very challenging yet worthy learning experience.
As part of the final assessment for this class, we had to complete a annotated bibliography of our Capstone. Below, I have attached this file.
